There is something inherently natural, yet unnatural about nudity in the wild. Various images follow this dichotomic statement; from the freedom of naturists to pagan riturals of dancing naked round a fire. I had aimed to investigate this point, with no real idea of how the means would affect the end, simply for experimentations sake. I found Ryan Mcginley an inspiration, as he takes groups and releases them naked into nature and decided to shoot on 35mm film as the use of a light, simple camera would allow me to move freely and not be inhibited by setting exposures. The title of my series also comes from Mcginley, where in describing the images from one of his shoots he uses the words "the colours and the kids" - I feel this describes my vision well as I did not want to alter my images in any way, so that it would totally be about the colours of the woodland and my performer’s actions. My series portrays the human form in nature, but it does not focus on capturing the perfect instance, but rather the "post-desiscive moment", when all inhibitions are lost.
